The local climate has a lot to do with the ambience, Lisbon being one of the warmest capital cities in Europe. Sunny summers and springs seldom goes above the 30 °C mark, while the Autumns and the Winters are between 10 and 20 °C, besides being rainy and windy though not entirely.
The westernmost capital in mainland Europe is located on the coast at the juncture of the Atlantic Ocean and the river Tagus and upon the seven hills named Castelo, Graça, Monte, Penha de França, S. Pedrode Alcântara, Santa Catarina and Estrela. The city hosts the Monsanto Natural Park that’s one of the largest in Europe. Attractions in the city are many; the world-famous Lisbon Half Marathon being the most famous. Besides, Lisbon celebrates the birthday of St. Anthony of Padua every June with 5 days of popular street partying. The four-day carnival is also a major crowd-puller taking place a few days before Lent (around 24-28 Feb).
