ZURICH

Zurich, a canton of northern Switzerland has come a long way from its Celtic identity of Turus. But the local orthodox Zürchers make it a point that the city name is properly pronounced as tsoorikh in their dialect. Once famed as the most tranquil city of Europe, the city walked to the path of industrialisation and hugged the bustle of city life instead. But this is not a reason to be disheartened because this is perhaps the only Swiss destination where you can enjoy the pleasure of nature from the windows of a very urbane hotel.

City View

Zurich is a modern address in true sense. It is the most populous city of Switzerland and houses the largest airport of the country. The Lake of Zürich in the south and Germany in the north bind the city and provide the essential natural backdrop. The multi-ethnic streets of this city are dotted with picture-perfect public accommodations, neatly done shops and buzzing hostels. If you want to enjoy your life here up to the brim, stay at one of the affordable bed and breakfast and experience the thrill of midnight after a drink. Or else you can take one of the up street apartments for rent and immerse yourself in the urban beats. Bahnhofstrasse (Zurich's fashionable shopping street), Zurich Lake and the Zurich Kongresshaus (convention and exhibition hall) are the principal areas of attraction.
Zurich takes a prominent place in the commercial map of Europe. It is the hub of a printing and publishing industry machine manufacturing. It is also the financial backbone of the country with international banking and financial institutions residing here. Zürich hosts many annual international congresses too.
