TAIPEI

Taipei is a modern industrialised megalopolis that clings tightly to the fragile threads of an ancient culture. Fascinating will be the dominant emotion when you look out of the wide windows of a hotel in this capital city of Taiwan. Taipei flourishes as an ultra-modern urban destination over the Taipei Basin in northern Taiwan. The Shin Kong Tower, measuring almost 245 meters with 51 stories, is located in the centre of Taipei and is the tallest high rise in the entire nation. This manmade wonder along with the numerous luxuriant accommodations and delectable dining options make Taipei a perfect cosmopolitan of twenty first century. The city limits are enwrapped by the Sindian River (Hsintien) to the south and the Danshuei (Tamsui) on the west. These waterways along with surrounding mountain ranges provide the Taiwanese city the required natural sceneries that soothe the tired visions.

Taipei 101

Taipei has risen far beyond its initial existence as a barren and dusty little town to a bustling centre of trade and commerce in East Asia. The city business district buzzes with activities from the electronic equipment, textiles, metals, ship building and motorcycles industries. Taipei has reached a level of congestion too as it houses nearly 2,619,022 people. Administratively, the city functions as a special municipality and also the seat of the central ROC government of Taiwan. Taipei comes to full bloom during the festive seasons of the Lantern Festival and Double Tenth Day when the city hotels and bed and breakfasts spill over with tourists. During other times of the year, travellers can have a good time while visiting the Taipei New Park, Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall and the Taiwan Provincial Museum. You can take apartments for rent or board in hostels at any part of Taipei and can reach the interesting places easily while accessing the Metro Taipei.
