CARDIFF

Cardiff is one of the newest and the most chic identities of United Kingdom. Though the city has been in news from the days of Roman invasion, it raised to prominence only in last few decades after a massive scale urbanisation changed the façade of the city completely. The year 2005 is especially significant as Cardiff celebrates its hundred years of existence as a city and golden jubilee as capital of Wales. It is the youngest capital city of Europe and the joviality of such an adolescent identity reflects in its landscape.
World-class hotels, conference halls, adventure and entertainment complexes jostle for attention on Cardiff skyline. Situated in South Wales, the importance of Cardiff as a potential industrial belt increased with the high transaction rates of the Tiger Bay port. For a brief period it remained the largest coal port and today, the Cardiff Coal Exchange invites in millions of foreign currency. But the city has not forgotten its glorious past and treasured the same with equal respect and care. The 2,000 years old Cardiff Castle and the famous Castle Coch attract tourists from all over the world. There is no dearth of accommodation in the city with innumerable luxury hotels and affordable bed and breakfasts available at every street corner.

Cardiff now ranks high as a family destination with its mixed bag of shopping centres, diverse restaurants and plenty of art, history and culture. This vibrant capital city is also home to the best of Welsh football and rugby. During the sport seasons, the city hostels and guest houses buzz with players and fans that come from all over United Kingdom to participate or cheer their teams. The best way to explore the city is to take one of the apartments for rent and roam all day round the city amidst the Victorian castles, galleries, museums, impressive modern structures and the bustling waterfronts.
